Coach Ashley Reyes

We are excited to welcome Head Coach Ashley Reyes! Ashley has been passionate about the game of fastpitch softball since her youth, playing throughout her childhood, travel ball years, and into high school. For the past eight years, she has dedicated her time to the Coventry Girls Softball League, serving as Recreation Director, Commissioner, and currently Vice President.

In addition to her leadership roles, Ashley has managed a competitive travel team for the past five years, helping athletes develop not only their skills on the field but also their confidence and love for the game.

With a professional background in education and mental health, Ashley brings a unique approach to coaching. She has extensive experience working with children from birth through age 18, giving her a strong foundation in youth development, mentoring, and fostering resilience.

Ashley’s philosophy as a coach is rooted in hard work, teamwork, and personal growth—both on and off the field. She is committed to guiding young athletes to reach their full potential while building a supportive, competitive, and fun environment.

Coach Heather Piazza

Assisting Coach Ashley is Coach Heather Piazza. Heather joins Fire N’ Ice with a wealth of experience and a passion for coaching. She previously coached the 12U team for the Southcoast Rebels in 2024 and 2023, leading her team to the finals or semi-finals in every tournament they participated in. In addition to her travel ball coaching, Heather has been an active board member and coach in the Barrington Little League for several years.

Heather has a strong background in sports, having played Division 1 ice hockey for Boston College, where she graduated in 2001. She was also a standout softball player in Rhode Island, playing varsity softball for four years.

During her high school career, she won four division championships and two state championships, including an undefeated season. Heather received numerous accolades, including being a four-time all-division player, a three-time all-state player, and earning multiple all-tournament honors. Although heavily recruited to play softball in college, she ultimately chose to play ice hockey. However, she missed softball and walked onto the BC softball team, playing the fall ball season during her sophomore year before deciding to focus on her academics.

Heather is a three-time member of the Barrington High School Hall of Fame for field hockey, ice hockey, and softball. She has also spent several years coaching ice hockey. Heather is dedicated to teaching and mentoring young women, helping them to be their best and to love the game as much as she does.
