Coach Rich Fonseca
Coach Fons (Rich Fonseca) will enter his 3rd season as the Head Coach for the Blue (Fonseca) team and Fire N’ Ice Director. This will be Fons’ eighth year with Fire N’ Ice. In his previous seasons, Fons has served both as an Assistant Coach and Head Coach for the Red team and Head Coach for the Red ’23 team, a team of committed seniors. Outside of FNI, Coach Fons is entering his 2nd season as an Assistant Softball Coach at Brown University. In year 1, the Brown Bears won their 1st Ivy League title since 1997. Prior to Brown, Coach Fons also served as an Assistant Softball Coach at Rhode Island College for 2 seasons. Coach Fons played college baseball at Johnson & Wales University, where he later was an Assistant Baseball Coach for 6 seasons.
Coach Mark Silvestri
Joining Coach Fons is Coach Mark Silvestri! Coach Mark returns to the FNI coaching staff for his 3rd season. Mark previously was an assistant coach for 18u Blue in 23-24 and an assistant for the Prospects team with Coach Joe Baris in 22-23. Prior to his time at FNI, Mark served as an assistant coach at the 14u level with Coventry Crush, now RI Crush. Mark is also involved in coaching youth baseball and AAU Basketball.
